hello and welcome to my temple! my name is cassandra and i’m a new york city based life coach, youtuber and professional actor. cassandra’s temple was created to inspire and empower women, artists, and creatives to design futures infused with art, soul and radical authenticity to foster financial independence and liberation for all.
about
cassandra’s temple started as a password-protected document on my laptop in high school. when feelings got intense i’d go there to write things i couldn’t share with anyone. oftentimes it wasn’t pretty, but i noticed my suffering would ease after i purged on the page. the safety i created within empowered me to speak my truth publicly and it was through this process of self-confidence that i realized when i’m honest, i can see myself clearly, make better decisions, and change lives.
when it comes to building the life you want, it’s important to do it based on your values and not anyone else’s. for a lot of us, it can be difficult to know the difference. this is why asking deep, clarifying questions is at the heart of my coaching practice. cassandra’s temple values truth over membership, belonging over fitting in, and what it feels like over what it looks like. these values make up the core of authenticity.

therapists assess, diagnose, and treat mental illness. as such, therapists often focus their work on identifying and reducing symptoms.
life coaches guide and encourage people through personal challenges. they help their them navigate toward their goals.
ultimately, both professions have value, and the work can look fairly similar between therapy and coaching. however, when assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illness is needed, that work becomes therapy, and it requires a licensed therapist.

no. a sex therapist is a licensed therapist with rigorous training in sex education and human sexuality.
i am a life coach and though i’ve self-led my studies on evidence-based sexual health concerns and sexuality, i have not had the intense exposure to the variety of sexual concerns that sex therapists have
if your sexual concerns are rare or require medical attention, i recommend a sex therapist.
otherwise in my opinion, sex and sexuality are so deeply integrated with all other areas of life that a holistic approach to wellness, self-perception and identity are usually enough to see some improvement in these areas.

all the love you could ever hope for is present inside each and everyone one of us. the work is a process of unlearning everything we’ve told about what makes us good enough to experience that love as fully as possible.
everything you need is already within you! doing the work will help you shed all that keeps you from your optimal version.

there is a long tradition of black women breaking written grammar rules. grammar has a long history marginalizing groups of people and minimizing their intelligence. intentionally breaking them is a revolution. everybody has their own reasons but ultimately changing grammar is another way to express ourselves. personally, i use lower case letters as a reminder that everything is ultimately one, and that which is capitalized sits on a horizontal line of equanimity, not a vertical line of hierarchy.
